From a structural standpoint, Deadpool is an incredibly tight movie. The whole thing basically operates around three key scenes (the dank torture pit, the highway battle, and the final standoff), and the stuff in between ties it all together. It winds up working really well for the film, but one unfortunate side effect is that it requires a lot of fat-cutting to work, which results in great stuff left on the editing room floor.
